Sarah
My name is Sarah. I live in an apartment in the centre of Frederiksberg. I have studied Chinese for about four years. My favourite part of the language is learning the signs, because I find them very fascinating. I have a big family. I have three siblings; my brothers at the age of 10, and my sister at the age of 15. My brothers are twins. My parents are divorced but they are still friends and able to work things out.
Three days a week I play volleyball after school. I like it because it is a fun sport, and I have a lot of friends playing on my team as well. Besides playing volleyball I like to spend time with my friends in my spare time.
I have a spare time job at a cinema on Frederiksberg. It is very nice, because I can watch all movies for free. Unfortunately I can only keep the job until my 18th birthday, which is very soon. I don’t know yet if I’ll apply for a new one. Besides I also babysit a seven-year-old Dutch girl.
I have a Dutch father. He still lives in Denmark with me, and I speak Dutch almost fluently. We don’t always speak Dutch at home, but it is nice to know the language, so I can talk to family in the Netherlands. I have been in the Netherlands more than 20 times.
I have been to China once in my life. I was in Beijing with my school class. We visited a lot of places. Among those I liked The Great Wall the most. It was such a beautiful landscape and view. It is very interesting that every brick of the wall has Chinese signs engraved.
I look very much forward to visiting China next year.
