Ida
My name is Ida. I’m 17 years old. I’m from Denmark. I live in the suburbs, but I go to high school in Copenhagen.
I live with my parents. They’re both doctors. I have a brother, who is 23 years old. He’s studying in Norway to become a doctor like my parents. I also have a sister, who is 21 years old. She has moved to Argentina, so I don’t get to see her much unfortunately.
My school is called Rysensteen Gymnasium. My major is Chinese. Besides Chinese I also have Danish, history, social science and English as majors. Before I went to Rysensteen Gymnasium, I went to a primary school in Farum, which is the suburb I live in. Then I chose Rysensteen Gymnasium because they offered Chinese as a major, and I wanted to try something new and different. I really like Chinese because it’s so different, and because of all the history and culture. This fall I went to China for two weeks with my teacher and another girl – Olivia – from my class. We participated in a competition called ‘Hànyǔ Qiáo’. We went to Beijing and then Kunming in Yunnan. At the competition I got a scholarship, so after I’m graduate from high school, I’m going to study in China, which I’m very excited about!
