Laura D
Hello, my name is Laura. I am attending high school at Rysensteen Gymnasium right next to the central station. I am 17 years old and soon, in February, I will be 18. I’ve always lived in Denmark and most of that time I lived in Copenhagen. Right now I live with my aunt and my cousin. I have a half-brother, who is 20 years old. I have only met him twice and he lives with his mom in Copenhagen. I grew up as the only child in the family so I might be a bit spoiled.
I live in Islev which is a 20-minute-drive, with train, from downtown Copenhagen. I also have a dog named Matilde. It doesn’t belong to a specific race because it is a mixture of a whole bunch of dogs. The dog is six years old and the first two years we also had a cat. The cats’ name was Cocio. The names Cocio and Matilde are both popular brands of cocoa in Denmark.
When I’m done with high school I am planning to get a scholarship and go to a Chinese university to study. I don’t know what I want to do yet but I am thinking of doing something maybe in advertising. I always thought about being a translator. It could be for people in all kinds of situations or it could be as a translator for Danish TV-shows to for instance Chinese. But I will probably change my mind a 100 times before I’ve decided what I want to do.
I am looking forward going to China. I’ve heard very nice things about Hangzhou and it looks beautiful on picture. In Denmark it is so cold in the winter and sometimes most of the summer. I hate it, when it is cold so I am looking forward to walking around in a T-shirt in China instead of an enormous winter jacket in Denmark.
